What is FUE Hair Transplant?
Follicular unit extraction (FUE), also known as follicular transfer (FT), is a minimally invasive hair transplantation technique in which follicular unit grafts (hair follicles) are individually removed from the patient’s donor area and then individually transplanted to the recipient (thinning) area.
HOW FUE HAIR TRANSPLANT IS DONE AT SQUARE ROOT
Using a tiny one-millimetre or less in diameter instrument, the physician will remove individual follicular units from the patient’s scalp. The device makes a tiny circular incision around the follicular unit to isolate the graft. The graft is then extracted directly from the scalp using a tweezers-like instrument, and then prepared for placement by our team of skilled technicians. Working with high-powered stereo microscopes, these specially trained technicians isolate, prepare and ensure that the follicular grafts remain in optimal condition. Follicular units are arranged into groups depending on the number of hairs contained within each follicle (1-4 hairs are commonly found within each follicle).
The placement of these follicular units is what sets the stage for SQUARE ROOT natural-looking results and artistic
Note: FUE incorporates the latest, minimally invasive technology and advanced grafting techniques. Your SQUARE ROOT physician can help you determine which technology or technique is best for you. Follicular Unit Extraction and Follicular Unit Transplantation are offered at SQUARE ROOT Centre.

IS FUE HAIR TRANSPLANT PERMANENT?
Hair loss can be painful, it takes away not just your precious locks but your confidence as well. There can be many factors that contribute to hair fall such as genetics, hormonal factors, stress, lifestyle, medical disorders like thyroid, autoimmune diseases attacking hair follicles, or any scalp infection which may lead to hair loss. FUE or Follicular unit extraction is one such hair transplant procedure which is getting popular amongst those seeking a solution to hair loss or baldness. This procedure is quite helpful in restoring hair with the help of a minimally invasive procedure and advanced grafting techniques that give best results without any linear scars. FUE hair transplantation is carried by extraction of the follicular grafts (comprising of three to four hair follicles) from the back of your scalp, known as donor site which is then grafted into the bald area of the head. After the completion of this procedure, new hair growth can be noticed after three months.
Though hair transplant is a popular choice for treating hair loss and the results are also quite long-lasting, however, it is not assured that these results stay permanent. The reasons why hair transplantation does not stay forever are:
IS FUE A SCARLESS HAIR TRANSPLANT SURGERY?
Hair transplantation is different from any normal surgery and therefore needs special training. thus instead of paying a visit to a general surgeon, please do visit a specialist to get the most effective and long-lasting effects of FUE hair transplantation procedure.
A common myth still exists that FUE (follicular unit extraction) is a complete scarless surgery. All hair transplant procedures, whether it is follicular unit transplantation (FUT) or follicular unit extraction (FUE), leave some scars. FUT produces a linear scar at the back of the scalp that may be visible if you keep your hair short. FUE, on the other hand, leaves small dot scars at the back of the scalp.
FUE surgery involves shaving the back of the head and then removing individual hair follicles, as opposed to taking an entire strip of the scalp in FUT. FUE will therefore certainly make you look a lot less bald. The donor sites heal relatively well. Only small dots are noticeable, but these are covered by the surrounding hair. The scarring associated with FUE methods increases with the total number of grafts harvested.
Overall, a great benefit of the FUE is that the risk of visible scarring is hugely reduced. Your scalp will have a series of tiny dot scars, which are so small (typically less than 1mm) as to be scarcely noticeable.
Hair loss is quite common among, especially among men. In fact, two-thirds of men population are affected by male pattern baldness as early as by the age of 35. Nowadays, a large number of men and women complain about some form of hair loss or a receding hairline in their 20’s. This has caused an increasing number of people looking for hair transplant procedure such as FUE at an early age.
FUE or follicular unit extraction is a surgery that involves taking individual grafts from the donor area such scalp and then implanting them one by one into the recipient site. This leaves only small dots as marks after the healing is complete compared to big scars as in case of FUT or follicular unit transplant.
There is no fix age to get FUE done. However, most doctors recommend 25 as minimum age as before 25, it will be difficult to ascertain the pattern of hair loss in the future. What is important is that you are healthy with a dense and strong donor area, and a good hair tone. Overall, one can say that age 30-40 is ideal for FUE.
